From Boys to Men

Whether a little one or a big one, recently I have tried to add products for the men in our lives. It is easier to find and fun to find personalized items for the little guys but a little more difficult to find items for those older boys. Please feel free to suggest more items that you would like for your men or boys. Here are a few recent Monogramchick creations:

The first item is one of the more popular manly items that I have added recently. I have always had keyrings and moneyclips, but this travel mug is a new fun addition for me. For the manly colored backgrouds I have the black that is pictured and I have a fun silver that looks a lot like duct tape (Don't all men love duct tape?)!! Of course, we have tons of preppy fabrics for the ladies as well!!

Now for a few things for the men that cause us less headaches....

This high quality blanket is blue and white pindot pattern. These blankets are truly a great gift for a newborn! This is an item that will be around long after the dirty diapers and formula are gone and forgotten. A great shower gift!!

Every little boy loves a puppy. Let them have their own "best friend" early with this puppy dog blankie. This has been a MonogramChick poduct for a long time but I thought this one was cute enough for the blog!!

Last, but not least why let anyone doubt what your little bundle of energy and joy is going to grow up to be. This is a long sleeved t-shirt but short sleeved is availible as well. I think adding a name would have been great but in this case the client was unsure of the spelling. This product is not on monogramchick.com as of right now but it is in my ebay store here or just email me!!

Bibs, Burps and Fancy Pants

Today seems to be kids day at MonogramChick! One of my favorite things is the excitement that surrounds people who are shopping for new babies. I also love seeing the great baby names! Below are a few creations for our littlest ones!

And for something a little different, cover those little bums with preppy style with fancy pants. I searched high and low for higher quality fancy pants. Monogramchick fancy pants are 2 layers of fabric in the midsection and are better quality than many others. Here are a couple for today.

Custom Bugs, Bridesmaid Bags, and Butterflies!

Hello all my preppy MonogramChick readers!! Today's creations are kind of a random collection! Variety is the spice of life right??

First up, is a custom creation for a client that emailed me wanting something a little different. She wanted an appliqued bib and burp set with a Pink Ladybug! How fun, she had a little girl that loved ladybugs and pink so this is what we came up with! If anyone is interested in the doing this or something similar just email me and let me know, pink bugs are now my thing!!

Next up is a set of 6 small terry cloth cosmetic bags. These were created/ordered by a bride for her bridesmaids. These are great bridesmaid gifts and they function well too! Doesn't every preppy chick need more room for her stuff!? The thread we use at MonogramChick is colorfast, meaning these bags can be bleached and the monogramming doesn't fade! These inside of the bags are plastic lined for easy clean up. My personal set has been around for nearly 2 years and about 4 bleachings and still look great!

Lastly, I embroidered this cute butterfly lovie for a Grandma that wanted "Grandpa's Girl" to have something special to take with her after leaving their home!

Personalized Travel Mugs Gone Wild!

Hey y'all, I have a quick MonogramChick update. I have been working to get some new patterns for the monogrammed or personalized travel mugs. I have added a few new fabric patterns. I love these things! They are yet another way to stand out from the wall flowers of the world and show some style! You can get extra inserts and change them out yourself since we always need options.

Some MonogramChick Projects

Hey Folks! Sorry that I have been away for a while but I am glad to be back! I am going to make it a goal to update my blog to include recent creations. If you see an item here that you would like to purchase but you can't find it on my website, please email me! It sometimes takes a little while to get all new monogramchick products listed. I am constantly trying to keep up with the preppy personalized gifts for my clients!!
Today's Featured Creations:

First thing today we have a set of waffle weave spa wraps that were created for a bride with an up coming summer wedding!! These are a great bridesmaid gift! I think she choose a great color combination, what do you think?

The next MonogramChick creation is an addition to a popular product line: Diaper Roadies. These are like a miniature emergency diaper bag. They are great for the time when you just need to take along an extra diaper or two and a box of wipes. They easily fit in most mom sized purses. We have added the LolliDot pattern. The LolliDot pattern is a great one for that mom will like and dad won't have to hide from his friends...

This next creation was a solution to a common dilemma: "Monogramchick, I need a gift for a baby shower but the parents are announcing the name until later..." Dad was a real baseball fan so we did a bib and burp set appliqued with the following...

About the Chick

I have a friend who is an amazing photographer {Rachel Eng} and while shooting pictures for my website she snapped a few shots of me for the "About the Chick" page. I thought I'd share one of my favorite photos (I LOVE the antique finish she added) & tell a little about myself.

I grew up in a southern home, the daughter of a very Martha-esq mother. From the time I could walk I was helping her with crafts, sitting next to her at the sewing machine or peering over her shoulder as she smocked for my sister and me. I guess this exposure seeped into my being. I love anything that involves creating something beautiful.

After teaching seventh grade science for 4 years I took a sabbatical and put my innate love of all things crafty to work. Our family was blessed with a baby (my nephew) and using him as inspiration I began making burp cloths with fancy little fabrics, cute ribbon and finishing them off with monograms. Soon, I was traveling around the southeast looking for the cutest, most unique supplies and before I knew it Monogram Chick hatched!

Things have changed since the chick's humble beginnings. Monogram Chick has grown leaps and bounds since the first burp cloths made at the dining room table. I offer a much more extensive selection of fabulously unique products including gifts for bridesmaids, hostesses, sorority, housewarmings, children and babies. However, my roots remain in offering a terrific product with outstanding customer service.

I am constantly adding products and looking for great new things. If you have any suggestions, things you'd like to see Monogram Chick offer, I'd love to hear about it!

Rachel Eng Rocks!

I love that I know cool people! Rachel Eng is one of those amazingly talented, cool people that I am blessed to know. She was so gracious and indulged me in a photoshoot with a group of 5 best friends and Monogram Chick products! The day was chilly but the girls were troopers--so was Rachel. Thank you to Kasey, Teresa, Jen, Jessica, Kendra & espcially Rachel for making the products look so great! These photos will be up on the site very soon.

Graduation

Graduation is just around the corner. Whether you'll be shopping for high school or college grads Monogram Chick has great preppy gifts sure to please all.

For the girl going off to school a cosmetic bag set stitched in school colors is perfect, you could even add a matching shower wrap to cover up in those "hall bathrooms" we all loved from freshman year! One of my favorite gifts (and one that I still have) was a monogrammed beach towel. Not nearly as fun and funky as these but it served me well on many spring break trips to the beach! Not sure what to get the grad? How about a monogrammed travel mug? What college student doesn't know the necessity of Starbucks? Give them a great travel mug with a coffee gift card enclosed inside.

Preppy Baby

I love doing baby gifts! Half of the time I have no idea who these sweet little babies are, or to whom they belong but I love to think of what he or she may look like and what excitement their mommies and daddies are feeling as I work to create a special gift for each one of them.

My new favorite applique design is the double circle. I think this is so preppy and fun. The best part being that any mix of fun, funky or traditional fabrics look great on the bibs, burp cloths and blankets!

Here are some that I've done in the last few days which all have names embroidered in the center, but this design suits a fabulous monogram to the T!

I feel like a kid on Christmas Eve, I am filled with anticipation and excitement! Within the next 2 weeks MonogramChick.com will have a new look! The site is still taking orders but we are basking in the southern sun as we enjoy a spring break in the south.
