Just Popping In to Let Y'all Know

We have a move in date at Woodall Orthodontics of THIS WEEK!
We are thrilled to be nearing the end of the construction journey we've been immersed in for the last 2 (very busy) months and can't wait to be open and to be seeing orthodontic patients.

Why I'm MIA and HELP!!

So for the past few weeks (as I mentioned) we are knee deep in orthodontic office decisions. One of which is our reception area. As resident chick in our partnership I get to decorate this space that will be the first impression for all of our patients (with some help, of course) and I'm need some feedback from some my fabulous chickadees.

What have you seen that you really like in your orthodontist's or dentist's office that we simply must include in ours? I'm calling for your help--we are opening in a few short weeks and I feel the weight of the reception room on my shoulders--dear blog friends please help me!

2 By 2 We Will Go

As I write this post Dr. Chick is putting the final few nails in the ark. Seriously, we've had a ton of rain {and are expecting more tonight}. Work on the exterior of the office has come to a screeching halt, today I spent the day deep in paint colors, counter tops and decisions--looking foward to more of the same tomorrow. Tomorrow morning I'll swim to my car, take out the oars and head to town.

Yes, I am that addicted to PhotoShop that I added a drop shadow and I may or may not have uploaded it and tweaked it more than once....don't judge.

Dr. Chick's family owns a little cabin on a nearby lake....this is what you can see of the cabin as of today.....sad.


My heart goes out to the families whose homes are flooded. We have now lived through 2 floods (in 1 1/2 years), the devastation the water causes is unreal, I cannot imagine what it must have been like for Noah and his family, let alone our present day families that must rebuild after water damage.

I'm laying low in blog land

Because it is all I can do to stay sane.....I had no idea building Dr. Chick's orthodontic office would be such an undertaking. Life is a flurry of activity as we make decision after decision in anticipation of being open for business in October! Dr. Chick is updating his blog {almost} daily with the 'reno' progress, check it out.


I am quite happy with the way our sign turned out. Our great friend, Wes, cut the sign into that spiffy shape and Dr. Chick sanded and slathered it with many coats of white paint (in our living room; which another story for another day!) and then we applied the vinyl lettering to both sides.

Monogram Chick continues to chirp along behind the scenes & into the wee hours of the night. I simply have little energy for anything else these days! Thanks for hanging in there with me as posts are sporatic, I'll be more frequent--pinkie swear--when the "Operation Ortho Office" is complete! In the meantime, visit Sister Chick's blog--I am totally blown away by what an awesome blogger she is! And keep up with our office progress via Dr. Chick's blog.

So, my very creative and crafty sister, Kiki, took on this adorable diaper cake project for her friend, Kate's baby shower. Isn't it too cute? I am partial to the Monogrammed Burp Cloth and think it is the perfect diaper cake topper!

Let's Talk about Birmingham

There are so many reason I love that town, let me count the ways.... I'll spare y'all ALL the reasons but if you're in the near vicinity and haven't been to Birmingham, GO. You simply must visit!

I recommend the Peanut Butter Cup or Mint Chip. When we were there last week I opted for the Peanut Butter Cup but didn't photograph it until I'd devoured almost half of it, so this pic doesn't do it justice.

I WANT this

and I do not have, nor do I plan to have a baby any time soon. A baby is not in my immediate future however, this baby bed is necessary in my life. Isn't it simply divine? Can't you just see some fabulous monogrammed accessories--better yet a big, fat monogram on the 'headboard' and my ring bearer pillow my mom made for our wedding lying in this fantastically antique looking bed? I could go on and on about the other furnishings in the room but this bed has taken my breath away.

Thanks to Pewter + Sage (a new and fab blog find) for the baby bed lust.

This pillow deserves a post of it's own, but it is magnificent with white, ivory and lace (and it was handmade by my mom! for our wedding!). It belongs in this bed. This bed belongs in my house. Do you love it?

I Know Scrunchies are O-U-T....

But what do y'all do to dress it up when you're rocking the pony? I have my fabulous Monogrammed Ponytail holder, but some days that just doesn't cut it. My hair is the longest it is has been. Ever. I admit, I sport the pony tail frequently and feel like I need a little something-something to accessorize the often present pony tail. Here is my dilemma....I find the accessories that are already on the rubber band uncomfortable and awkward, what does that leave me?

I've searched Etsy (did you know scrunchies still sell?!) and while there are some adorable hair accessories for little girls there seems to be nothing for big girls....is this because a brown rubber band is all I need? School me ladies....I need help. What do you use to accessorize your ponytail?
