Beefing up Baby

Here at Monogram Chick I am always looking for cute new ideas and fun things to add to the site. It has been my goal to "beef up" our baby section and now, the baby portion of the site is officially "beefed". With lots hard work and late nights "creating" we here at the Monogram Chick studio have added some great new baby items! With my right-hand woman (Brooke) and my right-hand man (Dr. Chick) at my side working late into the night, we're pretty proud of our new Monogram Chick Baby Gift Sets. Happy Birthday--Super Late

So, My sister's birthday was LAST Saturday and I am a total slacker and haven't blogged in ages and totally missed blogging about her Birthday. I was with her, so not blogging makes it a little better right?! Here are some photos of my little "seester's" 28th Birthday. We were in Birmingham and ate at Highland Bar & Grill--an adventure in eating including rabbit, beef carpaccio and eggplant.

All Greek to Me--VOTE!

That's right....Monogram Chick is working toward Greek licencing and I couldn't be more thrilled! I know here in the south (as well as across the country) our Greek letters were the first major choice we made as college freshman....I remember bid day like it was yesterday (depression set in when I did a little mental math and realized it was over 10 years ago) and this fall the ritual will be repeated. Monogram Chick will be there sporting her "power letters" on some of our most popular products!

The Perks of Being Monogram Chick

Whenever people find out that I am an embroiderer/monogrammer they always ask if everything in my house is monogrammed....if I've said it once, I've said it a million times; "the cobblers children have not shoes". The MC household is somewhat lacking in the monogrammed accessories department--sad, I know. However, when we pulled this little chair out of storage for the guest bedroom, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it. It was so quick and easy, but I think it made a huge improvement, don't you?

From 50's floral to modern brown.....what do you think? What home improvement projects have you been working on this summer?

New Studio and Ready for Summer!!

Hello Blog World!! Dr. MonogramChick here, I was given the assignment by the Chick (always a teacher at heart) to update the blog and let y'all know that we are back up and running!! I need Help.

I try to eat salads most days for lunch. While at my local grocery store {which doesn't even compare to Publix--I am counting down the days until I return to my beloved} I picked up some Tyson "Southwest" Style grilled chicken strips to add to my salad. A little lettuce, some black olives, low fat cheese and the chicken were easy to throw together but I needed a dressing. In walks the best Salsa ever. Target's salsa is sooooo good. Now, I'm not a 3 alarm chick when it comes to my salsa, I like it mild (and sweet--peach salsa--yum!) so Target's Archer Farm's Original Thick and Chunky Salsa: Mild does the trick.

I mixed the Salsa with a spoonful of low fat sour cream and a few shakes of dry Ranch Dressing and viola! I created a salad with dressing that I have now eaten for 6 days straight.

{You'd never know that I'm a chick that actually likes change. As a teenager I would move the furniture in my bedroom around almost monthly...I'd do it now with the furniture in our house if it didn't drive Dr. Chick crazy.} But I digress, I need your help.

What are your salad (as a meal) and dressing ideas...obviously, I'm in a rut and need some great (healthy) salad ideas and would love to hear yours.

Bring those crunchy lettuce induced recipes on!

Big Changes for the Chick

Monogram Chick will soon be high-tailing back to the southern soil! In about 3 weeks Dr. Chick will be finished with his residency and we will be moving onto the next chapter of our lives {southern style}. In order for this chick's tail feathers to remain unruffled,

the Monogram Chick website will be closed

June 1st-June 14th.

Pretty, pretty, please....place your orders before we close on Monday, June 1st!

We are beyond excited about the move and beyond nervous about closing up shop for 2 weeks; never before has the Chick taken such a break. I can only trust that y'all will be here when we return on Monday, June 15th in our new studio on that heavenly Georgia clay.
