It seems like forever since I've posted anything...actually, it has been over 2 weeks--Holy Cow!
Thank you to everyone that gave me your recipe's and ideas for our Christmas dessert. All of them looked so yummy. I have to admit, I took the super easy way out. I went to the best chocolatier in the south, Peterbrooke, (based in Jacksonville, FL with stores across the South East) and picked up one of the "Make at Home Truffle Cake". I simply added eggs and butter and we noshed on fabulous chocolaty goodness after filets, twice baked potatoes, and green bean bundles.
However, I still chose a winner for the recipe cards! I have not made these yet, but totally plan to when we make it back home. Emily's "Death By Chocolate" is a heavenly mix of chewy brownies, creamy pudding, cold whipped cream and crunch toffee...my favorite things!
For those of you that missed her recipe, here it is:

Give Me the Dish on Desserts
Now it is time to start thinking about shopping and baking. In fact, tonight I have started my holiday baking: chocolate peanut butter fudge, (the first batch did not turn out and I'm giving it another shot), Chocolate Chip Candy Goodness Bars (a recipe given to me by Susan {Fiddler's Three} and I totally made up the name) and Chocolate Sugar Cookies with Royal Icing (a heavenly treat that Courtney, one of my cookie swap partners, sent and I'm ga-ga for!) I plan to send most of these things to school with Dr. Chick and then give the others to family and friends, but love to bake!
**These are the Chocolate Chip Candy Cookie Goodness Bars. Please excuse the metal pan, it is going to school with Dr. Chick with no need to return. I am usually a DeMarle snob**
I need y'alls help! What is your favorite (read: EASY) dessert that is also festive. I will be baking at my inlaws home since we will be staying with them for the holidays.
**Dr. MC is allergic to pecans so whatever I make must be sans pecans.**

Happy Birthday Nina!
One of my greatest blog friends {Nina} celebrated her 28th Birthday this weekend! Happy Birthday Miss Nina, I hope it was a special day--you deserve it!
You MUST check out this chick's blog. She is amazing...I wish I had half the energy she does! Once you "meet" Nina, you will know why she is such an amazing and sweet friend. Spend some time with her on her newly designed blog (it looks fab!) and you'll be going back for more--I promise!

'Tis the Season
Hey Y'all! The machines are humming along and I am enjoying some Christmas music while I work. I am so thankful that I am in my warm little studio healthy and able to work.
Y'all know that Danielle did my blog makeover (love that girl!) and she is doing such a great thing on her blog. Her goal is to donate 20 winter coats to children in China through an organization called: Love Without Boundaries Coats and Cribs for Kids.
You can help out! Purchase a raffle ticket on her blog for a basic blog makeover and you'll do your part to keep the children warm this winter. It doesn't take much (time or money) if I can do it, you can too! Buy one ticket for $6 or 3 tickets for $12.

I'm Back!
A few reminders for this week....
Tomorrow will be the SITSmas giveaway. The SITS girls {The Secret is in the Sauce} are great, check out their website and you'll be addicted too!
Thursday I'll be celebrating the big day with bloggy birthday fun you won't want to miss.
Friday is the last day to place an order at http://www.monogramchick.com/ to gaurantee Christmas delivery, please order now {pretty please?}
I will not be around as much in the next couple of weeks as I try to process and stitch orders (often past o'dark-thirty at night), but I will be lurking and missing y'all and will come back in full force once ALL the orders are shipped.
Until then, I will leave you with some "Preppy Decorating Tips" I found out in cyberspace. Maybe y'all will have time to pull some of these off, because right now I can only dream that the Christmas elves will come give my house some preppy Chirstmas decor!
- Cable-knit cuffs add a soft touch to stockings trimmed with playful belts and a bow
- Tie ribbons to boughs or loop them into a chain for your tree
- The mantel will look nice dressed up with evergreen branches sprinkled with glass balls and mini white trees. Finish the look with swag of twisted ribbons.
- For something different with gift wrapping, skip all the holiday-themed gift wrap and use colorful stripes or cheerful checks. Coordinate the colors and mix as many different patterns as you desire.
- To liven up your window views, string glass ornaments on bright ribbons across the window.
- Balance preppy polka-dots and striped prints with solid-colored balls.
- Create a corduroy stocking: Stuff a store-bought corduroy stocking with paper. Fold a six-inch length of cable-knit fabric over the top of the stocking and affix with hot glue. Attach bows and belts with hot glue.
- To make ribbon chains for the tree: Each loop: layer two equal lengths of coordinated (not matching) ribbon; affix lengths with double-sided tape. Align ends to make loop and attach with double-sided tape.
